Thank You for Scheduling Your Vision Correction Consultation

This guide will help you feel informed and prepared before your appointment. You’ll learn what to expect during your consultation and get an introduction to the vision correction options that may be discussed during your visit.

Meet Dr. Gardiner

In this short video, Dr. Gardiner explains your vision correction options, who may be a candidate, and what to expect from the surgery evaluation and surgery process.

What to expect at your consultation

Plan on spending about 45 minutes with us on the day of your consultation.

We typically do not dilate your eyes at this visit. If you have been out of your contact lenses for one week and decide to schedule surgery, we may be able to complete the dilated portion of your preoperative testing that same day.

During your visit, we will:

  • Get detailed scans of your eyes

  • Discuss your lifestyle and vision goals

  • Learn whether LASIK, EVO ICL, RLE

  • Review pricing and available financing options

  • Answer your questions

Your Vision Correction Options

Whether you scheduled your consultation for LASIK, EVO ICL, or refractive lens exchange (RLE), you may discover that more than one option could work for your eyes.

During your consultation, we’ll consider your eye measurements, prescription, lifestyle, and long-term vision goals to help determine which procedure may be the best fit for you.

Custom LASIK

$2,400 per eye | $4,600 for both eyes

LASIK uses advanced laser technology to reshape the cornea so light focuses more accurately inside the eye. It is a well-established option for many patients with healthy corneas and stable prescriptions.

Often considered for patients who:

  • Ages 18+

  • Have mild to moderate nearsightedness

  • Do not have a history of dry eye

  • Stable prescription for at least one year

EVO ICL

$3,900 per eye | $7,800 for both eyes

EVO ICL uses a thin, customized lens that is placed inside the eye, behind the iris and in front of the natural lens. Unlike LASIK, it corrects vision without removing corneal tissue.

Often considered for patients who:

  • Have moderate to high nearsightedness

  • Have thin corneas or dry-eye concerns

  • Between the ages of 21-45

  • Would like a reversible solution

Refractive Lens Exchange

$3,900 per eye | $7,800 for both eyes

RLE replaces the eye’s natural lens with an artificial lens selected around the patient’s vision goals. It may be considered for patients experiencing age-related changes in near vision who want to reduce dependence on glasses.

Often considered for patients who:

  • Are ages 50+

  • Have become dependant on readers

  • Want a long-term option that prevents cataracts from developing

Preparing for Your Preoperative Appointment

If LASIK or EVO ICL is recommended and you choose to move forward, you’ll return to our office for a preoperative appointment.

Here’s how to prepare.

Plan for a Break From Contacts

You’ll need to stop wearing contact lenses for one week before your preoperative appointment. This allows us to take the most accurate measurements for your procedure.

Don’t Have Glasses? We Can Help.

We may be able to provide loaner glasses, add temporary lenses to your existing frames, or help you purchase an affordable pair in your current prescription.
